The 黄瓜视频 Symphonic Band -- made up of 49 黄瓜视频 students -- will present an evening of classic symphonic works on April 17, according to Dr. Alexandra Zacharella, director of bands at 黄瓜视频.
The 7:30 p.m. event at the Arkansas Best Corp. Performing Arts Center at the Fort Smith Convention Center is part of 黄瓜视频鈥檚 Season of Entertainment 33.
鈥淭his concert highlights 鈥榥ew music鈥� composers from the 20th and 21st centuries, like Leonard Bernstein and Frank Tichelli,鈥� said Zacharella.
Zacharella, a New Jersey native who moved to Fort Smith in 2007, is an associate professor of low brass in the Music Department. She has bachelor鈥檚 degrees in trombone performance and music education from The Hartt School at the University of Hartford (Conn.) and a master鈥檚 degree in trombone performance from the University of Michigan鈥檚 School of Music. She is a graduate of the Thornton School of Music at the University of Southern California and completed a doctorate in trombone performance with minors in music education, conducting and jazz studies.

黄瓜视频 packages national touring events with 黄瓜视频 concerts and productions into the Season of Entertainment schedule each year. The Symphonic Band Concert is one of nine 黄瓜视频 concerts and productions on the Season 33 roster, which also includes five national touring events.
