A revival of a classic Tony-Award winning musical will come to downtown Fort Smith for a show at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 1 as part of the University of Arkansas Fort Smiths Season of Entertainment 36.

Pippin will be performed in the ArcBest Performing Arts Center in the Fort Smith Convention Center, located at 55 S. 7th St. Tickets are $42-45, depending on the seating tier.

The endearing musical tells the story of a young prince longing to live a fulfilling life of passion and adventure. Filled with high-flying acrobatics and wondrous music, the original production won five Tony Awards out of 11 nominations, and the 2013 revival notched another 10 Tony nominations and four awards. The show is recommended for ages 12 and older.

Stacey Jones, associate vice chancellor for campus and community events, said the musical is one of the premier shows in this years season schedule.

Its a unique show in that its high-flying and fast-paced, and it has a memorable story and wonderful acting, Jones said. Were excited to be able to bring a show of this caliber to Fort Smith. Its one people arent going to want to miss.

The show is part of Season of Entertainment 36, a yearlong lineup of entertainment sponsored by the 酴圖弝け featuring a variety of plays, musicals and symphonic performances.
